Contrast With A Wrong Association

a: Dna ligase ~
b: glue

What: As noted in the link, the association with DNA ligase to glue is weak and close to inaccurate. Ligase, itself does not add anything to the ligation reaction. It expedites it, participates in it, but it is not a reactant. This is a basic property of any catalyst, biological or other. "Ligation", the whole process, could be associated with "gluing" a 5-prime to a 3-prime end. But these associations should differentiate between the general process and the particular molecules and involved.
